Dr. Kishwar Enam has been a consultant pediatrician at The Aga Khan University Hospital since 2003. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and has dedicated the past decade to addressing child abuse in the country. She established Child Protection Services at AKUH to better manage cases of child abuse. With a special interest in adolescent medicine, she also initiated an adolescent medicine clinic at the hospital that addresses teenage issues.

As a child rights activist, Dr. Enam actively advocates for children’s rights with the government and has collaborated on legislative efforts related to child protection. Additionally, she is involved in school health services and provides free physical and mental health screenings in impoverished areas of Karachi. She is a member of a group called Citizens for Child Rights, which is dedicated to advocating for the protection and well-being of children in Pakistan. Furthermore, she writes for Dawn on topics related to child abuse and protection.​
